Galena Alaska

A little about the village with my fav ref.Here's some pano's I made from my short stay at the Post Office in Galena. One of the larger villages on the Yukon River.

Owl on the deck

I came home from work and as I went in the door something moved behind me. Wow! It looked like a little baby owl. I later found out that was it's normal size. A boreal Owl. It stayed for 2 hours and was very hungry. I fed it some beacon on a string. I hope it survived after it left.

NOME, Alaska Cold war relics

It's fun climbing around the old radar site on top of Anvil Mountain overlooking Nome Alaska. Only a few left now that are still there and not removed by the "Man".

Barter Is. (Kaktovik) Alaska

Kaktovik Alaska on the Arctic Ocean very close to Canada. Never been there in the winter but I can tell you that summer is chilly and foggy. Ive done this trip twice. Can you see the Polar Bears in the blue pictures?

Wales Alaska

It can get real outside at this village. Gale winds, horizontal snow. Very close to Russia. Ive been there 4 times in 5 years.
